Marnie Pettit, M.A., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

I am here to help you address the critical issues within your relationship to restore your peace and connection. You’ve lived this way for a while. The anxiety, the disconnection, the doubts, the shame, the questions, and the stress—you’ve tried to manage it all on your own or as a couple. But, when you’re honest with yourself…you’re tired of feeling like this. You know life could feel better. You’re just not sure how. All you know is that you are ready to make a change. I work with couples who want something more in their lives (and are prepared to do the work to get there). Sometimes, they’ve noticed the way their anxiety, grief, or past experiences are playing out in their relationships and want support in processing those things. Other times, they have a sexual health concern that keeps them from enjoying the sex life they want. Others know something is “off” in their relationship, and they need support to identify what that something is and address it. I’m here to help you tackle all these things in a space where you can feel safe sharing some of the most sensitive parts of your life.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I work with couples to sharpen tools for developing communication, deepening intimacy, and resolving power struggles. I work with clients to understand each person’s unique perspective on their relational dynamics and the conflicts occurring within.

As a trauma-informed couples therapist, I use various counseling methods such as the Gottman Method, Sex Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy to help reconnect couples and restore intimacy. I am passionate about helping you find your voice when difficult experiences and emotions create barriers to relating to your partner. I aim to help my clients heal by better recognizing and working through core issues and dysfunctional patterns.

I am a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the American Counseling Association. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1993. We have raised three beautiful daughters and have three nutty dachshunds who follow us around. My experience, warmth, and acceptance create a strong working relationship that meets each client’s needs.
